Cyrus Khambatta, PhD Nutritional Biochemistry

Hi, I'm Cyrus Khambatta. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2002. I received my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University in 2003, and then I earned a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley in 2012.

For the past decade, I have been educating people with type 1 diabetes, type 1.5 diabetes, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes how to reduce reverse insulin resistance through diet an exercise, following a research-based protocol that has helped hundreds of people around the world achieve exceptional diabetes health.

I am a mango addict and love to play soccer, strength train, run and do anything that gets my heart pumping and senses awakened. Most people think I'm crazy, but type 1 diabetes is the BEST thing that ever happened to me, because it forced me to take full control of my life.

Robby Barbaro aka "Mindful Diabetic"

My name is Robby and I am the cofounder of Mastering Diabetes and the founder of Mindful Diabetic. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12, and embraced a low-fat, plant-based, whole-food diet 4 years after my diagnosis. To this day, adopting this lifestyle has been one of the best decisions of my life, and since that fateful day my hemoglobin A1c value has never exceeded 6.4%. I graduated from the University of Florida in 2011 and worked at Forks Over Knives for 6 years before turning my attention to coaching people with diabetes full time.

I enjoy exercising every day, spending time with friends and sharing my lifestyle on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Helping people with diabetes has gone from a desire to a true passion, and I love inspiring others to achieve excellent health.
