They mamey fruit (sometimes called "mame fruit", but typically referred to as "mamey fruit" in English) comes from the evergreen tropical tree of the same name, the mamey tree. With its origins in southern Mexico, Central America, and Cuba, this firm fruit is very popular internationally but have just recently started to gain traction in the U.S., and we couldn't be happier.
