How Elsa Lost 24 Pounds and Reversed Prediabetes with Mastering Diabetes

“None of My Clothes Fit Anymore!”

Before Elsa found the Mastering Diabetes program, she was feeling very scared. She had prediabetes and was overweight. She was not comfortable or happy with how she looked or how she felt, but her primary concern was prediabetes. More than anything, she wanted to reverse insulin resistance and stop the disease progression in its tracks. She had tried multiple approaches to do this, and nothing was working.

When she found the Mastering Diabetes Method, she decided to take the leap and try something new. She started by downloading all the free resources and joining the meal plan, but eventually decided to join the coaching program. That was when everything really started to come together and gain momentum.

Elsa met with her coach once a week for three months, and the results came quickly with that support and accountability. She received not only logistical support, but the compassion and emotional support she needed along the way as well.

In those 3 months, her A1c went from 6.3 to 5.5, reversing her prediabetes. Elsa also lost 24 pounds, and at one point realized that none of the clothing in her closet fit her anymore – it was all too big! Although she had to purchase new clothes, it was a good problem to have.

Finding New Food Habits

Elsa comes from a Mexican family and her culture is highly centered around food. “I love food!” she says, and she has been able to maintain that love within the diet changes that she made in the program.

Elsa was able to adjust her own recipes to meet the Mastering Diabetes Method standards, and through the Weekly Meal Plan she found many new recipes she loves as well.
