A Creamy Chocolate Chia Pudding with Blueberries and Banana
This Chocolate Blueberry Chia Pudding combines ripe banana, blueberries, cacao powder, and chia seeds for a creamy breakfast or naturally sweet treat. Coconut water keeps the mixture light, while vanilla and a small amount of maple syrup complement the rich chocolate flavor.
With 16 grams of fiber per serving, this simple pudding is also an easy make-ahead option. Blend the fruit and cacao, stir in the chia seeds, and let the refrigerator do the rest of the work.

Blueberries Add Natural Sweetness and Color
Blueberries bring sweetness, a slightly tart flavor, and vibrant color to this chocolate pudding. Half are blended directly into the base, while the remaining berries are added fresh on top just before serving.
Blueberries are especially known for their anthocyanins, the plant pigments responsible for their deep blue-purple color. They also provide vitamin C, fiber, and a variety of naturally occurring phytonutrients.
Cacao Powder Brings Rich Chocolate Flavor
Two tablespoons of cacao powder give this pudding its chocolate flavor without requiring chocolate bars or a heavy dessert base. Its natural bitterness also creates a pleasant contrast with the sweetness of the banana, blueberries, and maple syrup.
Cacao contains naturally occurring polyphenols and minerals, including magnesium and iron. Combined with fruit and vanilla, a relatively small amount provides plenty of chocolate flavor.

Banana Creates a Naturally Creamy Base
Banana helps give this pudding its smooth, creamy consistency while adding natural sweetness. Blending it with the blueberries and coconut water creates a fruit-based foundation that pairs easily with the cacao and vanilla.
Bananas also provide carbohydrates, fiber, potassium, vitamin B6, and other micronutrients. Using ripe banana can enhance the natural sweetness of the pudding and complement cacao's more bitter flavor.
Coconut Water Keeps the Pudding Light
Instead of using a creamy plant milk, this recipe blends the fruit with coconut water. Its mild flavor allows the blueberries, banana, and cacao to remain the focus while providing enough liquid for the chia seeds to hydrate properly.
Coconut water also naturally contains electrolytes such as potassium. Be sure to choose plain coconut water without unnecessary added ingredients when possible.

Chia Seeds Transform the Mixture Into Pudding
Chia seeds are what turn the blended fruit mixture into a thick, spoonable pudding. Once stirred into liquid and refrigerated, the seeds absorb moisture and form a gel-like texture. The recipe needs at least 30 minutes to set, although it can also be refrigerated overnight.
Chia seeds are particularly rich in fiber and also provide plant-based omega-3 fatty acids. Because they're more calorie- and fat-dense than fruit, the ¼ cup used here is divided between two servings.

Bring It All Together
Chocolate, blueberries, and banana make this chia pudding feel indulgent while keeping the ingredient list simple and fruit-forward. With just a few minutes of active preparation, it's especially convenient for busy mornings.
Prepare it the night before, keep it chilled, and add the fresh blueberries when you're ready to eat. The result is a creamy, chocolatey breakfast with 16 grams of fiber per serving and plenty of naturally sweet fruit flavor.
