She then studied to become a registered dietitian and certified diabetes care and education specialist. She earned a bachelors and masters degrees in nutrition from Western Michigan University and has worked with people with diabetes for over 13 years. In addition to her professional credentials, she is a sound therapist, yoga instructor, practices meditation, and loves the outdoors. She is an avid biker, runner and hiker, and loves to create large scale paintings, make jewelry, and sing.
